That’s it… Today I recived my ADSL modem and got it running. It’s so nice to actually SURF the net, instead of LIMP in it. Still, I did not do that for the speed – it just turns out to be cheaper then a regular dial up!
I didn’t want to order ADSL befor, since I’m hardly at home (only weekends, and not every weekend, too). I got a serious (and free) internet connection in university, and my mom uses the internet for only 1-2 hours a day, sometimes even less. The only the time the internet is is of serious use is during the weekends when I come. So I figured I don’t need any serious connection, just the cheapest non-limiting one. Turns out that with all the current discounts for broadband internet in Israel, it’s cheaper to have a 256Kb ADSL then a dial-up… Ho well, and it’s way faster too, so who cares…
Well, what do you know… Turns out that the little fight in the Time Magazine Person Of the Year survey got more sides then you would realize…
After writing my last post about the Survey fight, where Sharon supporters and Arafat supporters tried to pump each to a higher rank, I started to get a massive amount of hits to that specific page. To my surprise, turns out that the post link appeared on several Japanese sites that had something to do with the Time survey. Not being able to read Japanese myself, I’ve left a comment at my own page and asked people to explain what is all the fuss around this subject. Only then it turns out the Palestinians supporters got help from a very surprising place – Japan!
Apparently, there was nothing political in the Japanese “help” to pump votes to Arafat. One of the sites offered a special script for download and this was kind of a group effort to change results. Some Japanese also mentioned Masashi Tashiro who have won the time survey last year.

Good morning…
At last, some sun! The past 2 days were a real storm. I went to sleep tonight with headphones on my fav. winamp playlist, since the wind and the rain caused so much noise it was really disturbing. Anyway, maybe cause of that I woke up this morning totaly hooked to one of the tunes. It’s called Majorca, apperantly by Deep Forest, Enigma & Art of Noise. I didn’t know these three cooperates but if that’s the kind of stuff they create together they should do it more often, the piece is GREAT!
We had another IGDA meeting on thursday, which went REALLY good (imho). New people, good lectures (Rony did a very interesting one!) – I had a good time myself! I’ll post a report and pictures later tonight on our chapter page.
Anyway, I got 2 exercises to hand out tomorrow, so I better continue working. Specially since Naor Benish, a very good friend whom I haven’t seen for ages, is coming to visit today! (ho – and I must remember to call moonlight’s father to say Happy Birthday!)
Well, here is another field where the Israeli-Palestinian issue is pressing aside everything else : Time Magazine’s Person of the Year.
On the internet, it seems every poll where either the Palestinian cause or the Israeli one place one foot in, there won’t be any serious results. It becomes another ground for Palestinian-Israeli tournament. Time Magazine is offering some world figures and “things” to be nominated as person of the year. I must say that in my opinion Gorge W. Bush, Osama bin Laden and Suicide Terrorist are much more close to being real “person of the year” then any of the leaders in this tiny place. But if you thought the legions of supporters on both sides will let such an important opportunity for supporting their cause go unnoticed, you’re bloody wrong!

I have finally found something I was looking for for ages – the MP3 version of Picture by Yael Levi. I’ve been looking for this tune roughly 4 years, unsuccessful since, basically, I didn’t know what was the piece name or who preforms it. Only this week Ishai told me it’s Yael Levi. Still, he didn’t remember the name of the tune so I started downloading all of her songs (that I could find). Anyway, I finally have it!
Yesterday night the gang gathered in my house to meet and celebrate both nir’s and my birthdays. It was really fun, long time since we had such a meeting. I still feel it’s the ‘little gang’ meeting since Dukatch is missing. DUKATCH! Damn, you got so lazy the past years, don’t you EVER visit your folks over the weekend and come to Ashkelon!?
Yossi told me I’m not updating this site enough and he sometimes comes here to check on me during the time we don’t see each other. I mean, PHONE would be a better idea, but I guess people are too lazy when they have internet at thier fingertips…
Talking about internet, I have ordered my ADSL this weekend. I hope to have it running and all untill next week (though they only promiss it within 14 work days). The only reason I’ve ordered ADSL is that it comes out it will be cheaper then my dial up! I’m only home on weekends and not every weekend also, so I don’t really care what speed the internet is, I just want it cheap. Turns out the basic ADSL package is cheaper then my dial-up!
Roses are red peoms are quite easy to create. I’ve wrote some lately for some reason, and started wondering how were other people doing in writing them. Anyway, here is a short, and not complete, list of some I found in a quick search through Google.

Just got back from Milueem (reserve duty) yesterday. It was a really intensive training. Anyway, I got back just in time to sleep an hour and a half before I had to get up and drive to my cousin’s wedding. It was a nice wedding, but it was my first really divided wedding. As you know, Religious weddings got a total separetion between boys and girls. This wedding has separtion in the dancefloor. Well, I guess they couldn’t do anything more strict since my family wouldn’t agree to split in the tables. Even with the current situation the bride’s side was keeping an eye on my mother and her sisters who tryed to slowly remove the curtains…
Anyway, we got back home quite late and I was DEAD tierd. I slept until noon today.
Today is also the Birthday of Nir Vaksman. He’s 27 as well! Happy Birthday Nir!
I’ll return to university on Sunday and start running to see what classes I’ve missed and what I need to submit (or get extention to submission). I hate this part.
