Reuters practice bad journalism?

Seems so. Apperantly they have used Deanna Wrenn‘s name to publish a some-what unsensitive (not to say offensive) story. Deanna, a journalist, had to go all the way as to publish the details in order to show she had nothing to do with the story. Here is a snap from her column, Dear Elizabeth: I Didn’t Do It, on the Wall Street Journal editorial page:

NonStop Weekend. Sortof.

Last few days were a mess. I’ll be brief: Wednesday. went to pay Property tax. was sent to social security office. was closed. back to the flat. packed stuff. lots of it. (leaving appartnment in a week or so). stored in car. drove to Tel aviv. Met Shmulik. Went to another friend. Drank choko. Turned out to be expired. damn. Drove to Yarkona. Visit Gali and baby-Shahar. drove to Tel Aviv again. copywriting class. Was late. Again. belly hurts cause of the choko. pain gone fast enough. Shir says it’s psychological. Me making macho pose. Not fooling anyone. damn. Class over. Going to to drive to Ashkelon. P a n t c h e r ! (Eng: flat tire) Trying to replace wheel. middle of the road. night. Flat tire doesn’t want to leave car. kicking it. nothing. kicking it hard. falling. on the screw-nuts. they disappear on the road. searching them with hands. finding them. going to take out spare tire. Baggage full. Moving everything to the back seat. Getting spare wheel out of the baggage. Replacing wheel. all hands and jeans black. Driving home to Ashkelon. 22:30. Remembering: forgot to eat launch. damn. Mishael and Mom not here. Leonardo very happy. Jumping on me. making me a big red scratch on hand. ouch. Mom comes. I drive the other side of town to bring Mishael. Dead tierd. Shower. Sleep.

XLS !!

Thomas!
Sending me SMSs at 4:00 am, eh? How are you mate, long time no talk! How are things in Sweden? (Or are you in the UK again?) Anyway, it was great getting a msg from you.

BTW, to anyone who had problems with NewsGrabber 0.2, I’ve released NewsGrabber 0.3 which is (suppose) to work ok for everyone, including on phpnuke 6.8. It was tested in several places already and worked fine. If any of you created a profile you want to share zip/tar it and email it to me (civax@ cfxweb.net). BTW – If anyone is willing to do a little icon for it, for the phpnuke admin menu, that would be awesome.

NewsGrabber and phpNuke

Ok, I’ve released NewsGrabber 0.2 for phpNuke. I’ve actually released it last night and I’ve just found out that it was already downloaded more then 60 times (in less then 10 hours). Well, I didn’t expect that amount of interest… My little Downloads module modification seems to be downloaded well, too. Funny. Never saw myself as a web-programmer. :)

If interest will be high enough I might even prepare my current version of NewsGrabber for release. I use I much more advanced version I’ve improved this year (NewsGrabber 0.2 was coded about a year ago).

Post all reactions and comments over here.

Happy Birthday Renata!!!

Yeah!! It’s 16/7 and it is Rinat’s Birthday!!!
I should have been with her this evening, to celebrate it, but I had to be in Tel Aviv until late and drove to Ashkelon from there. All this while Renata and other friends are celebrating at the city. Damn. I’ll have to copensate her for this next week!

“Sorry for disappearing, but I opened the “24th Rinat’s Festival” and I’m quite busy trying to have fun. After celebrating my first year in Israel (btw, thanks for all the comments in the last post. You made me feel special!), I’m preparing to celebrate my 24th birthday on Wednesday. I am so excited about it that I can’t concentrate too much. Some nice things happened to me since Thursday and I’m kind of “out of myself”, I guess. Still in love despite some little problems… Hot here… Smoking too much…. Anxious… A new flatmate seems to be coming to live with me and Tamar… Working not so hard as the summer vacation began… Balagan…

Creativity in football ?

Just a really nice thing I’ve picked up at the forums of Brief, an Israeli site dedicated to advertising and copywriting issues.

It all revolves around football. Brazil vs Argentina, to be exact. The fans of Argentina posted posters that, well, reflected what they thought their team is going to do to the Brazilian team:
