I couldn’t find any forgien news site that posted this, but it was posted 2 hours ago on Ynet, the site of the leading daily newspaper “Yediot Ahronot”. Apperantly, an israeli representative went to talk with the french president’s diplomatic advisor, Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, and was told that France thinks there are no prooves that the Hamas and Islamic Jihad are terror organizations, therefore will not act against money transfered to them. In addition, france sees Arafat as a legitimate leader and think Abu-Mazen government is “without base”.
I have abosolutly nothing more to say. The french are totaly lulu.
Update: Here is a link to an english article of the news on Albawaba Middle East News (Jordan).
Also, apperantly the EU announcement that followed the Jerusalem attack, instead of Hamas or Islamic Jihad, the EU blamed “groups that out-lawed themselves”. Yea, nice to know it’s only about small little groups that have “owtlawed themselves”…
Well, happy to see there are some reasons to laugh as well. Seems reality can be much more funny then any joke you might hear – Egyptians may sue Jews over the Exodus (or hebrew version):
A dean at Egypt’s University of Al-Zaqaziq is preparing a lawsuit against “all the Jews of the world,” accusing them of stealing gold during the exodus.
The university’s dean of law, Nabil Hilmi, told the Egyptian weekly newspaper Al-Ahram Al-Arabi the Jews during the exodus “stole from the Pharaonic Egyptians gold, jewelry, cooking utensils, silver ornaments, clothing and more …”

I was about to post a comment how not-very-smart this act was, justified as it was. But then I read a sentece that, for some reason, caused me much anger – The Hamas says that after this action (the killing of one of it’s leaders and his 2 body guards – and no one else) they are stopping the Hudna.
Like, exploding a bus full of kids is still within the Hudna, but killing a terrorist leader is not.
Ok, guys, you asked it. For us, Israelis, the Hudna died 2 days ago when you killed and injured all those kids. I’m not one of the supporters of hard measures usually, but you’re just eating what you’ve cooked.

I went with Ishai to see the new flat Efrat and he have just rented, when we heard lots of ambulances all around us. Not very far from where we where there was a terror attack. A really big one.
Turns out a terrorist have mounted a bus that went from the western wall at 20:36 towards Har-Nof neighborhood. It was mostly filled with ultra-Orthodox jews (Haredim), mostly young children. The terrorist exploded in Shmuel HaNavi street and the explosion was so big it hit a car that was behind the bus.
There are 20 dead so far, 6 of them young children. Around 136 wounded, 40 of them children. (update: Dead count is now 22)
If you have a high-bandwidth connection you can watch Reuters Video Report.

I don’t really know who stands behind this organiztion, but Mosaic provides the TV news broadcasts from arab countries – all traslated into English. Very interesting to see, though I wonder how cerfull is the translation (sometimes a spcific word can be translated in several ways and have either a positive/negative meaning the translated word doesn’t carry).
Check it out. (needs QuickTime Player)
And yet another proof the academia is Bold, Brave and Innovative! The guys at the MIT Media Lab had devised a ground-breaking device. Something that will change something so private and so personal that it got to be a revalution. It’s going to change how you’ll urinate!
What can I say. Seems Dan Maynes-Aminzade and Hayes Solos Raffle knows how to pioneer research areas. Check this out and don’t forget to view the movies!! (there is also a brief PDF for any one interested in the TECHNICAL issue of the research…)

The paining turns out pretty fine so far. The house is a mess and all of us are tired. We wake up early, move things around, and after the painting is done, around 2pm, we’re cleaning the room and putting everything back in place.
Here are some pictures of the done rooms, both mine and the ‘little room’ (as we call it). However, seems my webcam twists the colors considerably when the lighting is different, So the colors you see in the pictures are not the exact colors…
 My room : Daylight |
My room : Florecent light |
Starting this morning, our house in Ashkelon is in a “painting week”. My mother, for some reason, decided a house should be repainted every several years, and now is the time. I was woken up at 7am. still sleepy and confused, a palette of colors was pushed in my hand and I was ordered to choose a color for my room. Color? What color? “You knew about this at least 3 weeks in advance, you should have think of a color you want for your room!” my mom said. Damn. Barely able to open my eyes I gazed at the 1000s of shades and came to the conclusion I have absolutly no idea. None.
My mom and the painter got this bizzare idea that each room will have 1 wall in a different color from the rest. Could have been nice if it was only a shift in shade, but no. They want all walls to be cream and one wall to be light orange. or light green. or light blue. Could someone explain to me how a cream fits into any of these?
Therefore, I announce this week as “lets waste a loan on making our house ugly” week. For god sake, I need to find someone to rent my flat in Jerusalem fast and find a new flat around Tel aviv already. The sooner the better.
Jason forwarded an email to me, apperantly from the XDMP support team to customers. From the email it seems they will have to stop the service due to legal reasons. The Complete email is brought below. Anyway, here is my opinion on the legal / not legal thing.
