Israeli mole or false accusations?

I haven’t heard/read/watched any news editions since Thursday so I was a bit surprised when Manson left me a comment that some kind of a “mole” case is being investigated in the US pentagon. I thought it was a joke or something at the beginning but a quick browsing of several news sites (never trust only 1 source!!) made it clear this is not a hoax.

So far the whole issue isn’t very clear, as far as I can see, and even the FBI says that the person in question (Larry Franklin) might only be sued on “misuse of a confident document” if he’ll be sued at all. CNN said this: “Government officials said a decision has not yet been made to prosecute or not. They say there may not charges at all and if there are, there may not be espionage charges.”

On our side, Ynet (the website of the most popular Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot) reports that our government rejects any idea of espionage, specially when relationship and cooperation with the US is stronger then ever. Alon Pinkas, the exiting Israeli console to New York, says that the intelligence cooperation between the 2 countries on the Iranian issue is so good he fails to see how such a thing isn’t even worth it.

Nathan Sheranski, Israeli Minister, said it might be possible that this affair was blown up to the current proportions as a result of the tense relationship between the secret services and the pentagon, as elections are nearing.

Anyway, we can do little but get on and wait for further information.

A glimpse of Solemngirl

Sometimes you make contact with someone that makes the internet something really wonderful. I had a chat yesterday with a sweet girl from Sweden. She was so… fresh! I really enjoyed talking with her. She managed to keep a really pleasent and smiley atmosphere while being very intelligent conversation. It made me miss traveling again. Meeting all those interesting people. Having all those relaxed conversations with people, that teach you about them, while giving you a chance to look at yourself and your opinions in a new angle.

What, me worry?

I got this really annoying tooth extraction tomorrow. Actually, It’s a surgical tooth extraction. It’s not a pleasant thing for anyone and it’s specially annoying to someone like me, that REALLY fear dental treatments. Anyway, I’ll probably be somewhat of a wreck tomorrow afterwards. So no work tomorrow. At least not a lot of it.

I’m not fond of all those ‘know yourself’ questionnaires on the net. However, I made this one which suppose to catalog you of one of 12 profiles and find you matching dates. I wasn’t really too happy with the profile it cataloged me (even though it had some things that were correct) so I tried to do it again. Alas, it wasn’t my day. Ended up with the same profile. Damn it.

Another cool thing they have is a spot the virgin game, where they use the photos of the people listed at them and you need to point the pic of the virgin. They count your right answers and they give you a mark, saying how good you are in spotting virgins. Ho well.
