Well, guess who got a reserve duty warrant for the period of the disengagement?
Right, me.
We’ve been called from the middle of May for 24 days. It’s not a surprise, though, as we were told at the previous time that we will be called for the disengagement. As far as I remember, we were also told reservists will not take actual part in evacuating settlements, but we will replace regular combat units so they could go and do it.
Still, it’s the same thing before every reserve duty – that feeling that you’re going to be pulled out of your regular life and thrown into where ever the army sends you now. And being in a combat unit means it’s always going to be an unplesent place. The only thing that helps getting through this period is the friends you have in your unit. And my unit is excellent in that respect, so it makes it a lot easier.
All in all I’m pretty supportive of the disengagement, though I must say I do understand how people being evacuated from their homes feel. They have the right to protest and work against the plan (in democratic ways). They have mostly failed, already, though, as the law of the disengagement has already been signed (and for that I’m greatful).
I only worry of those extreme right lunatics, supporters of “KACH” movement, and those Hebron and Kiryat Arba fanatic settlers. And add Effi “I’m-the-fuckin’-Messiah!” Eitam to that list. They plan on being in Gush Katif during the disengagement and causing as much problems to the army as they can.
Ho well, this means it’s most likely I will still watch the actual evacuation on TV, only I’ll be sitting in a TV room in some base, between patrol shifts, instead of my home. Now where have I placed my coffee kit??
Hi Eva!!
Just had to say that cause of your last comment. I’m just trying to get back at writing in the blog after months of inactivity. Even changed my blog script from Grey Matter to WordPress. I still have to finish writing the theme and converting all my old pages, so it’s still a mess for now. I’ve also started a new gallery (local this time) but haven’t had time to implement the colors and design of the blog. I’ll come to that soon, too.
Anyway, here goes… Continue reading ‘Little summery’
I know, I know, I’ve read people comments.
Tell you the truth, one of the major reasons I stopped updating is cause because there is this fuckhead that added this blog to his link spamming spider. Every day this bot of his is trying to add tons of comments to my post which only contain links to his porn websites, illegal drugs and gambling sites, in an attempt to improve his sites’ rank on google.
I’ve grown tired of erasing his comments one by one, trying to block his IPs (which he always keeps finding proxies that I do not have blocked) etc.
I’ve taken the comments off the blog. I’m currently checking if I can out smart this idiot’s bot easily. I’m not going to set up a more serious (and time consuming) defence. I’f things will look ok on my log for a couple of days, I might have the comments back on.
